Darsham Craft Days

Craft Days were cancelled due to the pandemic. Watch this space and the Darsham Facebook Page for future events.

Welcome to Darsham Craft Day.

The craft day has been running for many years and was orginally started by the Kirby family, to help to raise funds for Darsham village hall and Darsham church. The family stopped running it after many years of hard work and I Wendy Card (who has been involved for many years teaching the ceramic painting sessions) have taken up the task to stop it from finishing altogether.

Basically it is a day were we have around 8-9 different tutors teaching you a new craft without you having to buy all the equipment first. (Most of the time taking a finished piece of work home with you.)You get pre-booked into the sessions and you get to do 2 different crafts in a day, also included in the cost for the day is a lovely buffet style lunch (prepared by lots of lovely helpers from the village).

The day runs as follows:- 9.30 arrive at hall to pay and have a cuppa.

10-12.30 morning craft

12.30-1.30 lunch

1.30-4 afternoon craft

4 draw announced and cuppa. (End)

We hold the craft day twice a year (usually March and November but not always!!) in the village hall and sometimes spill out into a few people's houses!! Everyone normally has a great day in a very relaxed atmosphere and is always keen to come back.

Along with a draw we also have a table with items for sale made by the various tutors, which make great gifts and also helps our tutors to earn a little extra on the day as most of them take part for the love of it not the money!!

At present the cost for the day is £23.00 when you book in we do ask for a £5 non refundable deposit as in the past we have many cancel just before the date and we have already paid out for food and tutors. The profits still go to the Village hall and the Church so any losses are a shame.

Classes have included, ceramic painting, crochet, woodwork, jewellery, glass painting, zentangle, german paper stars, pottery, rag rugs, encaustic art, sugar craft, pyrography, photography, corn craft, fabric decorations, slate pictures, decoupage, card making and many more.

(If anyone reading can teach a craft we are always looking for new tutors so get in touch.)
