Darsham Parish Council is mainly funded by a precept, which is an amount of money paid to it from the District Council. Occasionally it can receive various grants and also has a small income from the allotments.
Currently the council receives £4400 which is raised from the rates of each household in the parish. The exact amound paid by each household can be seen on your rates bill each year.
About half of this amount is used on clerks wages and the remainder spent on various costs which can be viewed on the accounts published on this page.
The Clerk acts as the Responsible Financial Officer and the Council appoint an internal auditor, a qualified accountant, to review its accounts each year. The accounts are further externally audited by a government appointed company. This is likely to change in the near future.
The Internal and External audit of Darsham Parish Council finances has been successfully completed. Copies of the main paperwork can be viewed on this page.
