Darsham Village Hall Projects Up-dates  2026

Maintenance & Improvement Newsletter – Update
We’re pleased to share the latest updates on maintenance work and improvement projects at Darsham
Village Hall. Thank you to everyone who continues to support and care for this important community space.

✅ Completed & Scheduled Works

New CCTV System Installed – 2nd March
A new CCTV system to be installed to help enhance security and safeguard the hall and surrounding areas.
This will provide additional reassurance for all hall users.

Internal Redecoration of Kitchen & Lobby
Redecoration of the kitchen, toilets and lobby areas will freshen up the space and improve the overall
appearance for events, classes, and community gatherings. Once the new heating is installed then the
main hall will then get redecorated.

Also, several other large-scale projects are being discussed by the Village Hall Management
Committee(See below). Large scale projects mean large budgets and we will need to look at ways of fundraising
to be able to fulfil the projects.
Could you help kickstart our efforts by developing fundraising ideas? Could you help us explore
fundraising opportunities and search for those ideas which could support our community?
We are looking for anyone who may have expertise in this area, or an interest in helping, to join us in
our quest to make the Village Hall and the surrounding area the best it can be for the use of
everyone in the village.
If you are interested and feel you can support us in this area, or would like to know more, please
contact either Jill Edwards or Heather Ballantine to discuss it further or email

Pétanque Area

We are looking to place hedging around the area and are awaiting costing for the earth moving, laying of slabs, anti-weed membrane and a top finish of gravel.

Village Field

DVHMC Annoucement regarding Sizewell C Community Fund: Read Here

A working party has been set up, charged with looking at possible options to help improve the condition of the village field. Among other things, they are looking at (a) the vegetation; (b) ways of levelling the surface; and (c) the drainage.

Christmas Tree

Darsham Pétanque group have very generously purchased a permanent Christmas tree for the village. It will be a while before the new tree is large enough to decorate but this was the recommended size to ensure a healthy tree for the future.
